Tinned Billy Cans

The billy can, known locally as the Ibhekile (bhekele),  is Transkei royalty. Traditional beer, grain storage, or paint and brushes in the garage, there is very little they can’t do.

Ours are made in Butterworth from tinplate with a galvanised wire handle and a fitted lid, in six sizes from under a litre to 7.4 litres. They stack, they hang, and empty ones make surprisingly good storage tins.
